About us
Water is life and as a human right, water waters all human rights – yet today billions of people across the globe still face unequal access to clean and safe water. Climate shocks, extractive industries, urbanization, and outdated infrastructure systems have intensified these inequalities, while systemic injustices—both historical and ongoing—silence many of the communities most affected.
Amid these
challenges, voices from the ground—indigenous leaders, youth advocates, women
custodians, and everyday storytellers—hold powerful insights, knowledge, and
resilience. However, their experiences are often unrecorded, undervalued, or
unheard in dominant water dialogues.
Voices for
Water emerges as a global narrative movement
designed to catalyse justice and flow towards systemic transformation—stirring
tides toward a more equitable and sustainable world. By reframing water not
merely as a resource, but as a fundamental human right, this platform amplifies
diverse perspectives, invites creative expression, and builds bridges between
lived experience and policy influence.
Through
storytelling, collaboration, and community-led advocacy, Voices for Water
seeks to ignite empathy, shift paradigms, hold duty bearers accountable and
elevate systemic solutions rooted in people’s realities thus contributing
directly to the attainment of Sustainable Development Goal 6 in our lifetime.
A global
narrative movement where each water story catalyses justice and flows towards
systemic transformation—stirring tides towards a more equitable and sustainable
world.
To re-frame water not only as a resource but as a fundamental human
right by amplifying diverse voices that challenge inequality, share lived water
experiences, and drive structural change through storytelling, collaboration,
and creative advocacy.
